Double A looking to repeat

by Mike Booty

Canoga Park, CA 10pm. After a long hard night of training I finally arrived home for some much needed R&R. Then it occurred to me, the Pinche Aye pairings happened tonight and who am I paired with? I receive a text from Pinche Aye President Big Game James Tenorio, “you’re partnered with Moe aka Moe Butter aka the Hawaiian Punch. A big sigh of relief overcomes me knowing that we might actually have a chance at winning. All I need to do is hit the range and make my damn drives go straight. Moe’s overall game should be enough to carry us. Now lets see who we are up against, here’s a break down of each team:

Zeke and Double A.

Double A coming off a championship year and reigning MVP of the league. Double A, if on top of his game should have enough to take it all. Coupled with Zeke Trejo who’s been a consistent performer on the TNG tour. Only drawback to Zeke’s game is how will his drive hold up on the big course. We all know Zeke can putt and make chip shots but with all on the line and the added pressure of playing with the MVP, will he crack?

Chris Bucky and Nick Doggy

This is an interesting pairing for several reasons. We are combining the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to overall personality. We can all agree that there’s no one in the league more competitive and hungry to win than Buck. Buck was close to taking it all last year and he definitely has something to prove. Then on the other end you have Nick Doggy, a person who we can all learn from when it comes to chillin out and enjoying this great game. Nick’s been known for making some of the greatest shots in the Pinche Aye “I was lucky Doggy!” Hopefully the combination of Buck’s desire to win and Doggy’s laid back approach will be the championship recipe.

Jimmy and Alvin aka team Jimster.

This could be one of the most lethal duo’s we have ever seen. Jimmy is long over due to win in the Pinche Aye and has played consistent on tour. Vinster has shocked us all with his clean up act off the course. Let’s just hope he’s cleaned up his swing on the course. With the added coaching of Jimmy and Vin’s new found attitude in life, great things can happen.

Butch and Wes

Butch is one of the founding members of the Pinche Aye is yet to win a title. Butch has been playing this sport since he was in the Philippines living the life of diamonds and guns. Butch’s best asset is his overall experience. On the other hand you have Wes a relative new comer to the sport who is coming off a knee injury. Can Wes pull it together? Let’s hope these 2 will keep their off the course antics (partying and smoking) off the course on this day.

Hutch and Johnny

We all know Hutch for his world renowned play. I myself had the opportunity to play with Hutch in a Best Ball game and it's an experience I'll always remember. I recommend that Johnny keep his drives in play. Hutch is known to grip it and rip it! This has it’s good and bad and I quote old Hutchy “You never know if I get a hold of it…” Let’s hope Big Kat gets a hold of some those on the day of the tourney.

Pat the Party and Tommy Gunn.

Aka team Partystrano. If these two can hold off on partying for one night, they definitely have a chance. Both PTP and T Gunn are candidates for most improved player in the Pinche Aye. Both players have consistently improved their game since joining the tour. This could be the break out tourney for both men. Lets just hope they don’t look ahead at partying before the end of their round.

Shane O’Mac and Moy

This is one of the oddest pairings in Pinche Aye history. Shane is an all around top performer in this league and is ready for his first win. I spoke to him recently and he mentioned that he’s breaking out the red polo and black khakis for the tourney. Moy on the other hand is known for his home run go for gusto swing. If Moy can keep the ball straight, this team has a good chance of taking home the title.

There you have it, good luck to all.
