So now that the election is over and B-Rack is in office we can all be at ease, right? Can I get a “yes we can”? I was at Turners sporting goods yesterday, and couldn’t believe how many people were on a panic buying frenzy for guns and ammo. There were about 5 salesmen all busy showing guns to customers and a separate line for customers waiting to buy ammo. People from all ages young and old buying hand guns, rifles, and shot guns. I noticed that the price of the average semi automatic hand gun can run about $550-600 and that’s not including the other $70 you will add on for taxes and paperwork. That’s just for average guns like a Smith & Wesson and some of the cheaper brands that I have seen like Ruger and Taurus. More popular brands like Glock, HK, Sig Sauer, and Kimber can run you from $600-1000+ depending on features. So I said to myself can I really afford a hand gun right now? Is there a quality hand gun for under $600?
Over the past 2-3 weeks I set out to do my research on finding the best bang for you buck (literally). I narrowed it down to 2 semi auto’s the Springfield model XD (top 2 pictures) and the EAA Witness P (bottom picture). Both guns come in 9mm, .40sw, and .45acp caliber. Reviews on both guns have consistently given them high ratings in accuracy, comfort, and reliability. I’ve personally read and watched owner reviews on both guns and reviews have remained consistently positive. Both guns are manufactured in Europe. The Springfield XD being imported from Croatia from the HSS company and was awarded hand gun of the year in 2002. The EAA comes from Italy and is manufactured at the famous Tanfoglio force company. Also, the EAA Witness is a clone of the Czech Repulic CZ-75 semi auto. The CZ-75 has been revered by many as the best designed double action auto loader in the world.
Both guns come with a tactical rail for mounting accessories (lights, laser sights, etc.) which would usually run you even more money. In addition, Every XD now comes with the XD Gear System which includes gear belt holster, double magazine pouch, magazine loader, two magazines and cable lock. I’ve seen the EAA Witness as low as $400 on some web sites and the XD kit as low as $500. So if you’re in the market for a budget quality Gat there are your choices. Yes we can!
