Diz Gibran -Soon you'll understand LP

Check out the new Diz Gibran LP "Soon you'll understand" brought to you by Crooks & Castles. It's a free download off his site. I only sampled a few of the tracks. Good old fashion hip hop production on the jazzy tip.

The name Booty comes from my last name Makabenta. Back in the day circa 89-90 the homies used to butcher my name for fun. I think people just like saying it “MA-KA-BEN-TA” so peeps would be like “sup Makabentay crackin homie? we funna get some forties and get our drank on!” Or “Hey dude “wassup Makabennnta lets skate (spicoli voice)” or “that Vato Makabenta homez he’s down aye”.

So there were many versions and people from all types of backgrounds that used to love messing with my name. I’ve heard so many versions from makabudals, Hakabenta, Makabeezeee on and on.

After some time people started saying MakaBuda. Then for short it became Buda…Where’s Buda. I used to play a lot of basketball so when we were on the court they would be like “yo Buda pass the ball“ One day it must have been in the spring of 92 my homie T-Bone was like Buda Buda Boody Booty. . .As soon as he said Booty, everyone stopped playing and fell out laughing. Thus the name Booty just stuck after that.

So contrary to popular belief the humble beginnings of the name Booty has nothing to do with Ass nor does it have anything to do with “Booty Booty Booty rocking everywhere! Although some think that’s my intro song.

So why read my shit? Well I dabble in everything from music, photography, martial arts, movies, video games, weapons, toys, gadgets, and gizmos. I consider myself a connoisseur of comfort food. I used to be the illest bedroom DJ (not really); however, I listen to a lot of shit. I’m also what you would call an urban survivalist, so martial arts, weapons, knifes etc is the stuff I like to discuss. Last but not least I need a place to bullshit.
